Since mid November the market has primarily moved sideways, but with an upward bias. On 12/21/09 we received a longer term buy signal for the March emini S&P futures contract.12/28/09 we received a confirmation of the signal with a longer term buy signal on the March emini DJ futures contract.
On 1/12/10 we received a signal to exit the S&P contract. We are currently waiting for a confirmation from the DJ contract, but there is a possibility we could be very close to a signal to go long the S&P contract again.
The equity markets may be nearing a short term overbought scenario, but with its current choppiness, the market could move higher with its volatile fits and starts.
